CIVIC/EDUCATIONAL

Project Name:
UNLV Advanced Clinical Training & Research Center

Location:
Shadow Lane Campus
Las Vegas, Nevada

Description:

Three lecture halls ranging from 80-150 seats are accessed from the main hall and are marked by black granite openings to create a vault like effect upon entrance. 2x2 monolithic wedge wall tiles lit by coves and a ceiling floating in a sky motif help to create unique lecture hall spaces. A very tight budget has meant that the facility can not go through the process of becoming LEED Certified at this time. The team has still incorporated sustainable design strategies such as solar shading, very controlled openings on the east and west exposures, high efficiency glass, water wise landscape and low VOC interiors to create a LEED equivalent building. This project is a CM@R delivery.
